Q: Could you briefly introduce yourself and walk us through what a typical day looks like for you?

We’re a family with our son Max and two small dogs. Mornings are pretty tightly scheduled: breakfast together, a quick round of getting everything ready, then either Kathi or I take Max to daycare while the other heads straight to work. We both work at schools, so our hours are usually fixed.

In the afternoon we pick Max up again, often with a quick grocery stop on the way home. Once we’re back, we cook, and the rest of the day is family time: either a set activity like gymnastics, or we meet friends, head outside with the dogs, or just squeeze in a short loop for some fresh air.

Q: How would you describe your personal philosophywhen it comes to your personal/family commute?

Time and predictability are everything for us. With a kid and dogs, you don’t want to argue with reality about whether you’ll find a parking spot or whether traffic suddenly doubles your trip.

At the same time, mobility shouldn’t just “work”, it should feel good. A stress-free ride keeps your head clear and the day stays friendly. Tech helps us because it takes care of the stuff that otherwise burns mental energy: orientation, safety, clear signals, and that calm feeling of being in control.

Q: Thinking back, what was the most persistent"friction point" in your weekly routine that used todrain your energy?

Traffic around our suburb is the usual culprit, but it hits families extra hard: stop-and-go, the same traffic lights, narrow streets, packed parking lots. A lot of trips are actually short, but congestion and parking make them unpredictable.

And once you’ve got daycare closing time in the back of your mind, “a little delay” turns into real stress immediately. It’s not just annoying, it genuinely drains you for the rest of the day.

Q: Do you remember an "Aha!" moment? Was there a specific trip or errand where you realized the T1 Pro was going to make a real difference? Tell us about it.

The “aha” moment was the combination of speed, ease, and capacity. Lots of routes we would have done by car almost automatically are simply faster and more relaxed on the T1 Pro, because you don’t get stuck in traffic and the parking problem basically disappears.

And then there’s the ride itself: being outside, fresh air, and still having everything with you. One really nice surprise was that Kathi, even though she’s lived here practically her whole life, started discovering new routes and corners with Max in the cargo box, places you just don’t notice from inside a car.

And on our first bigger weekly shop we were genuinely surprised how effortlessly a full grocery run fits, while Max still rides safely and comfortably.

Q: Is there a "crazy" idea for a trip or a project that you previously dismissed, but now feels totally doable?

We’re much more spontaneous about getting out into nature. Before, “let’s quickly go outside” could feel like a mini project: grab the car, factor in traffic, hunt for parking, then do it all again on the way back.

Now we’ll just pack the folding grill, throw in what we need, and go. It sounds simple, but in real life it’s a big deal because “that would be nice” turns into “let’s do it”.

Q: Beyond those specific moments, what does a “smooth day” look like for you now? Can you walk me through a recent example?

A smooth day for us means: trips are predictable and we arrive without tension. The T1 Pro helps because it removes a lot of small stress points: no parking roulette, less stop-and-go frustration, and a clearer sense of control in traffic.

For Kathi, the safety aspect is huge. She used to ride a bike rarely because it didn’t feel safe. The rear-view camera, radar, and integrated turn signals make her feel much more confident. Since then, she rides far more often, and with a calm, steady feeling instead of a nervous one.

Q: Have you made any discoveries about yourself or your family throughout this transition? Is there a "mental shift" you’ve noticed in how you approach your day?

We’ve realised how strongly mobility shapes family life. If getting around is stressful, the whole day feels stressful. If the trips become easy, a lot of things relax automatically.

Honestly, the T1 Pro also broke an old prejudice for me. For a long time I thought a cargo bike just wasn’t for me. But the tech and the overall concept convinced me so much that our second car gets used a lot less now.

And on top of that, it feels good to be a role model for Max: we’re showing him that you can do things differently without making life more complicated.
